Height of Corruption in East Delhi MCD House Tax
My sister and me went to the MCD deptt for the mutation of her property which she got transferred in her name by Relinquished Deed after the demise of her husband last year,and she was asked to deposit the dues, and it was deposited along with all the documents required, but since she could not get the property mutated even after running to them for the last 2 months as we did not pay bribe for which we were asked for, and on inquiring we are asked get your property free hold , had we paid the bribe then it did not required anything,we had submitted a request to reopen the case and do the needful .
One can see the height of corruption , as ther is no one competent in MCD EAST DELHI, who knows the law
HEre property can be transferred after the demise of her husband but mutation cannot be, then was asked to get an NOC from DDA though the house has been already mutated in the books of MCD and is in her husbands name.
If anyone can guide us or comments shall be highly appreciated

Everybody knows there is corruption in M.C.D. I also face same problem when I go to M.C.D. Office to get my grandmother's property mutated on my mother's name. more

Corruption & MCD are synonyms to each other. You can't get any property mutation done with out paying any bribe. I too face the same problem when i got my property mutated after my father's death. more

sushil Please consult a lawyer who knows property rules and regulations. Decide money matter before hand/ more

I have purchased a Janta Flat from DDA, which I have got the property converted to free hold too. 4 years back I was sent a notice saying that taxes were due on a very large scale on my visiting the MCD South I was asked to deposit a sum of Rs. 5000 along with an application for mutation even after showing them that I had paid all the taxes, yet even after 4 years the property has not been mutated in my name. they say they cannot find my file, I can imagine what your sister must be going thru When my property which is free hold and I have all receipts for taxes paid till date and I am not getting mutation in my name I doubt U would too. more
