Free Ambulance Services from Delhi Govt
The Delhi government on Thursday approved ‘Home to Hospital Care’ scheme to provide free emergency response ambulance service to the people of the capital, a government statement said. ‘Home to Hospital Care’ service can be availed of by Delhi people for transporting patient to the nearest hospital by dialing toll-free number ’102′.
As many as 110 new ambulances would be procured to implement the scheme, including 100 for providing basic life support and 10 for advanced life support. Modern control rooms would also be set up to monitor the service. This facility will be provided by Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS), an autonomous body of the Delhi government. more

Emergency services can be better managed by looking at GPS which shows traffic jams and by informing the route intended to be taken by them to Traffic Police so that in-Advance arrangements can be made by repaying message over wireless....... making use of technology. This can be done by hospital, while ambulance can prepare to leave in the meanwhile. more

Air Ambulance is not common and not affordable by masses. Its true that we fear only threatening law. Seperate lanes will only be useful when governance is there. Respect for the weak/ patient/ needy is mandatory in our minds. I have seen most of people giving way to Ambulances and fire services, but there are many who think that since they are ahead of the car with SIREN (i.e. Ambulance), so they can honk and get their way, or jump signals....while many others follow the emergency vehicle , as if its their escort. Without basic sense, noone can help. Traffic cop can get active provided people abide, and not start questioning and wasting time. more

Police or no police , what is essential is to have dedicated lane for all emergency services like ambulance, fire brigade etc on every road or else even if you want to give way, there is no space and u r helpless to help those who need the same. Our roads are full of traffic with no space even for pedestrians than how can they take big vehicles rushing towards place of crisis or from place of crisis to place of service. I have experienced many a times both at Mumbai and Delhi that other than listening to siren and desire to give way, I could be of no use as I was rendered motionless because of traffic. This is true for most of us. Only a handful may not be sensitive to Abulence or fire brigade. more
