Entry of trucks in Delhi halved

As a result of Environmental Congestion Charges doubled on entry of trucks in Delhi, traffic of heavy commercial vehicles has been reduced by 40-50% as per EPCA (Environment Pollution Control Authority). This is, however, yet to be validated by other independent agency. more

With the KMP (Kundli-Manesar-Palwal) by-pass already operationa between Manesar-Palwal, entry of all commercial and private vehicles going from NH-8 to NH-2 shall automatically stopped. this will further reduce congession in Delhi roads. more
Such measures are certainly helpful. I liked less congestion on the roads during odd/even days. But I wonder that no one has ever talked about making Delhi green which will not only help reduce the pollution but also bring down the temperature. How many of you have planted a tree in the past?? Instead of crying foul, get up and plant a tree and see the difference yourself. more
why we also dont stop entry to tractors in delhi as there is no field in MCD area. they cause pollution, traffice nuisance more
thats a welcome measure. But we need 100 such measures to reach some relief. yes some relief. The pollution levels of PM 2.5 particle are way high round the year in delhi. So so so bad for everyone. But since we cannot see the silent and invisible killer, we do not care. The VIP areas in delhi are a bit spared from this dense pollution since those areas are way more green, polluting heavy vehicles are generally not allowed in those areas and no vendors can sell on footpaths there making city look dirty. Now politicians have to come and live in west, east and other parts of Delhi and see for themselves the hell it is on roads and everywhere. Stopping polluting bypassing trucks will reduce a lot but their contribution to polution is about 3 to 35 % of overall delhi's polution. And as per report if 40 to 50 % pollution has been reduced that means about 15% reduction in total delhi's pollution if the report is correct. Not bad but not enough. We are inhaling right now, not in future. Welcome measure though. I wish delhi govt is able to fight this menace even if they do not get support from center etc. more
Well, I really wonder - As if our elected representatives ( Councilors/MPs/MLAs etc.) are from MOON ... A common man can see & suffer the worste "Pollution of World's Dirtiest City - Delhi" and aware of more than 100 Violations by Builder Mafia,Contractors,Local Leaders, Truck/Bus Operators, Corrupt Police & Bureaucrats to keep Delhi Highly Dirty & Polluted ... Also, every citizen knows the Solution to Rampant Corruption in Govt Offices,DDA,MCDs,DJB,PWD etc...But who will implement strict discipline & stringent Actions against Non-performing Corrupt Staff ... Because our so-called leaders are in 'Unholy Nexus' with In-component Local Police and Administration ... Public is crying everywhere - "MODIJI BACHAO" !!! more
