Though I hold a 100% perfectly working Vodafone connection, i wanted to buy an Indian government owned BSNL post paid SIM card. I found that i can choose a number to me liking out of many numbers displayed. I selected and applied for one number that was somewhat closer to my Vodafone number. GOT it happily.
The first month bill came and I was shocked to see a heavy bill for the number that I had not started using. I went and checked up from the same BSNL office where I purchased. They said the their accounts department works like that only and hence my advance payment was not updated and hence this bill is a sort of including advance payment.
But they accepted a slightly lower value. I paid as it was my love to use an Indian SIM that forced me to buy it.
As I started getting SMS after SMS to go here and there and link my Aadhaar connected to the number. I went many times but they could not explain why, though the linking never happened.
Today (12th Jan 2018) again I went, it looked as if I will be able to link: But the first lady officer said that my number is not traceable for Aadhaar linking and directed me to go to another lady officer. I went.
She tried but as she had some problem which I could not understand, I went again to the third lady officer who started trying. Again failure. She said my number has not moved out of the old directory where it was under prepaid category and so directed me to another lady officer seated in another room. I went. After checking up in the computer there she spoke to some one else over phone. she told me that she has made arrangements to move my number to the correct directory so that I can link my Aadhaar number. But it needs 3 or 4 days time! She also said that all new connections, that are being released after the Aadhaar linking was made compulsory, can not be linked as some administration work has not been done!
I have paid 3 bills till now: For that which directory my number resides is a not a problem: But for obeying a govt rule, the directory needs to be changed!
What a funny way to work! If the govt wants to push all Indians to the private sector then they can openly say so saving people like me a lot of time wastage! I am happy with the private sector phone I hold.
Is it a crime to have loved my country and purchased an Indian product?
Who will answer or at least read this question? NO ONE there
