It is cent per cent true and i suffered the similar problem in installing an internet connection and paid Rs.1000/- and sent the prof of paid the money and despite I never received the connection nor my money was refunded even after 6 months and regarding my Aadhar verification which God only knows which is either for good or bad my thumb impressions did not get ratified and proved to be least legible and hence the person concerned in Airtel outlet told me that only optometry or eye ball verification or Iris verification is to be taken in the absence or failure of bio-metric verification but they did not have that instrument as it was costly and told me to wait for some more time until they procure or get a iris verification instrument. But my question is how to mark our visit to an Airtel outlet as they do not make any official record of our presence and having shown our Aadhar card and so on and hence as said by you even after repeated inquiries and conversation ,in my opinion, the only way to make them know our purpose of visit to like our Aadhar card identity is to shoot an email and see that it has been received by them and keep the same email saved in our computer.
I have been an AIRTEL Customer for Mobile phones for the last 25 years.
And I've , for the last 3 years changed from Post to Prepaid service, as they've gone on hiking the monthly charges which makes me effectively pay much higher rate per call, as I'm not a heavy voice-call user. In this area , they've become very very expensive for average users like me.
Broadband: with Airtel it had been a sordid story. I had to break the connection with them atleast 3 times over the past 12 yrs. All because of their high-handed approach& down-right lying about the big gap between what they promised what they delivered in terms of performance.
Right now , I'm out of Airtel Broadband for good.
Their general approach to customers :........1.They never answer our queries straight.... always going round about to put the blame on you brazenly eventhough it is their fault.
2. Latest episode running ..... I've been receiving SMS from them threatening to cut-off services (mobile-pre-paid) if I don't link my number with my AADHAAR. So, I went to them, only to be told to go to their retailer (who does the recharging). I went to one such , on 1st Aug17, with my AADHAAR to do the linking.....he took my finger print (thro' scanner) and sent to UIDAI who confirmed my AADHAAR details ( I could see the fellow receive my Card itself on his phone). He charged me Rs20 for this (eventhough the SMS from AIRTEL says it is free????!!!) and I recd an SMS from AIRTEL (within minutes of doing this) stating that the linking will be done within 48hrs.
Now the real drama by these crooks starts..... On 3rd Aug17 (48hrs after I initiated this linking process ) I receive an SMS from AIRTEL stating "Reply to this SMS with REJECT before 3rd Aug 03.33pm, if not requested by you."....look at the convoluted manner in which you are asked to act.
Since I've made the request I did not respond to the SMS..... as that is the only option left to me.
Meanwhile , I recd an e-mail from UIDAI....confirming their Authentication of my AADHAAR details to a request from Bharti Airtel.
On 4th Aug17....I receive an SMS from AIRTEL, saying that "the documents (AADHAAR card + my finger print scan) provided by you are not as per Govt's directives ( no indication of what those directives are !!!) . Visit your retailer and do link your Aadhaar card to avoid disconnection."
I sent them an e-mail , giving all the above details of what was done & what was recd from AIRTEL + UIDAI......asking them to explain why the details provided by me ( Aadhaar Card + finger scan.+ Rs 20 ... as demanded by their retailer) & authenticated by UIDAI, is not as per Gov.directives.
To this AIRTELresponds on 9th Aug17 ( after 5days of my above mail to them ) with their typical approach..... telling me how to do the linking by going to the retailer ( a process that I've already done).....without answering my direct query about why the details provided by me are not acceptable ...... a very typical AIRTEL response..... never acknowledgeing/ responding to what you've told/asked them..... only go on telling to do the same thing that you've done already.

The detailed account I've given above ( about the ongoing "linking Aadhaar to your mobile no.) is for all concerned to know what they are in for, if & when they go for this linking.
At this rate , I'll be cut my mobile connection also with AIRTEL soon. Extremely undesirable people, to deal with.
Very bad networks
